The Graudate School of Social Sciences, which was established in 1982 within Dokuz Eylül University, one of Turkey’s leading universities, for the purpose of “providing postgraduate education, scientific research and practice in the field of social sciences”, is one of the academic units that have been serving since the establishment of our University. With its educational conditions in line with the requirements of the age, its strong academic staff, and its rich variety of postgraduate programs, our Graduate School aims to “train qualified human resources who are equipped with contemporary knowledge and have developed analytical thinking skills, as required by the public and private sectors.” In this context, our Graduate School has graduated 4860 science experts and 1025 science doctors since the day it started teaching, and has brought valuable experts to public institutions and the private sector and scientists to universities. Our Graduate School offers 63 master’s degrees with thesis, 42 master’s degrees without thesis, 5 distance education master’s degrees without thesis and 26 doctorates in 36 departments consisting of the relevant departments of the Faculties of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Business Administration, Maritime Affairs, Law, Theology, Literature and Tourism of Dokuz Eylül University. It provides postgraduate education and training services to 5 thousand 881 students in a total of 136 programs. In our Graduate School, where research, analysis, seminars, symposiums, conferences and similar scientific activities are carried out, in addition to the postgraduate education and training activities specified in the Higher Education Law and relevant regulations, 405 faculty members and 2 academic staff within our Graduate School contribute to all these activities. Administrative services are carried out devotedly by our 24 personnel. Our Graduate School is included in Farabi, Mevlana and Erasmus+ exchange programs, which increase our national and international recognition and effectiveness. Within the scope of Erasmus+, it provides its students and academicians exchange opportunities in higher education institutions of European Union member and candidate countries within the framework of a total of 73 bilateral agreements, 12 of which are signed by our Graduate School. Our Institute, which was awarded the ECTS Label of the European Union Commission, issues all its graduates with their diplomas a “Diploma Supplement” issued in English, valid in 47 countries within the scope of the Bologna Process, which facilitates the international academic and professional recognition of diploma degrees. “Dokuz Eylül University Social Sciences Institute Journal”, a peer-reviewed international journal published in print and electronic format four times a year, has been published within our Graduate School since 1999. The Journal is included in TÜBİTAK ULAKBİM (National Academic Network and Information Center) Social and Humanities Database, DOAJ (Directory of Open Access Journals), Ulrichs’s Web Global Serials Directory, EBSCOhost-Online Research Databases, ASOS (Akademia Social Sciences Index). ), is scanned in Researchx Scientific Publication Index and Academic Journals Database, Sobiad: Social Sciences Citation Index databases.
